Business Challenge

For any business, finding ways to get your products in front of your target customers and allowing them to buy in just a few simple steps is always a challenge. For those clients using Pinterest and a qualified eCommerce solution, it just got a whole lot easier.

My Toolkit

The Process

Our client sells products to a target market of females aged 18 to 60. Because this is the demographic of the main user of Pinterest, it has always been a great marketing platform for them because it allows them to put their products right in front of their target audience.

Pinterest recently released Buyable Pins, which gives businesses the ability to add a blue ‘Buy It’ button to their pins. This allows U.S. based customers viewing the pin via either an ios or android device to buy the product instantly with either Apple Pay or a credit card. The new feature is available to only a few eCommerce / Shopping Cart products, one of which is Shopify. Because this is the platform used by our clients to manage their products and sales, we decided to give Buyable Pins a try.

Setup was fast and easy. All we had to do was head over to Shopify to activate the service. Then it was just a matter of pinning items from our store. Each product that was pinned from our Shopify store had a blue ‘Buy It’ button applied. Moreover, we can track pins, repins and sales through our Pinterest Channel Dashboard in our Shopify account.

My Outcome

Exceeded Expectations

We’ve only had the Buyable Pins active for a few weeks, but in that amount of time we’ve already seen an increase in activity coming from Pinterest. This includes both repins and sales. With this new solution in place, we are on track to see a 30% increase in holiday sales over last year.
